1. SECURITY

  • Maintenance and cleaning from the blocks of La Villita.

1.2 MENTAL HEALTH

Services Department Humans/Mental Health Division of Illinois (IDHS/DMH) received a grant from Vibrant, operator of National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (Lifeline) to plan the implementation of 988, a code of three-digit national dialing for Lifeline and for calls from people who experience mental health crises.

1.3 PARK IMPROVEMENT

  •  Adaptation bathrooms
  • Improvement, maintenance
  • Improvement, maintenance of green areas.
  • Cleaning area every week of games for children.
  • Installation of trees in the east area of ​​the park.

 

1.4 LA VILLITA COMMUNITY CENTER

The interest of having this center is due to the necessity of what is in our community due to the violence and crime that goes on increase in our  neighborhoods.

Here residents have a space with various programs focused on the proper functioning of our body.

The community center was founded by a group of residents of the community who have suffered painful experiences and we know what our community needs.

3. HOUSING

We know the importance of simplifying various requirements and thus avoid work informal, are procedures that we will work together with department of health, department trade and protection issues to the consumer of the city to be able simplify the procedures.

5. ARCO DE LA VILLITA REMODELING

2 Phases:
  • North side of the Arch.
  • South side of the Arch.

The space of east parking lot of the north tower and the space of parking at north tower west will be blocked during the construction.

Week of 7/24/2023:

Phase 1 (North)

  • Installation of fencesntemporary and controls of traffic.
  • Night work in north road.
  • Clock removal
Week of 07/31/2023:
  • Night work in north road.
  • Steel demolition.
  • Work on the roof of clay tile and part lining north of the arc.
Week of 8/7/2023:
  • Electrical work in the northern part of the arc on road.

 

6. MIGRANT SHELTERS

Fluent dialogue work and the predisposition of the city in build public policies in benefit of migrants from several countries that are in our city whose priority will always be the defense of the Rights of our community.

Consuls of the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Argentina, Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador, Ecuador, Colombia, and Chile.
