No Parking signs
- No parking signs can be picked up from the Ward Office as a courtesy to residents that are in the process of moving in or out of the ward. Parking signs are not enforceable by ticketing, Chicago Police Department or City towing services. Please note, street closure approved by Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events, with a special event permit or festivals also require No Parking signs. Those signs get installed by the Department of Streets and Sanitation and are enforceable by CPD.
- Stop by the Ward Office at least 48 hours prior to your move, to pick up and put the signs up with enough time to notify neighbors of the parking restrictions.Â
- Moving pods or containers are not allowed on the public way, no exceptions. By City ordinance, moving pods cannot be placed on the public way (sidewalks, streets, parkways, and alleys). Moving pods can only be dropped on private property (driveways, lawns, privately owned parking space), or they must remain on a movable trailer to be legally placed in the street.
