TIF Listening Session: Rescheduled

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 06th, 2024
TIF LISTENING SESSION: RESCHEDULED
It is with great disappointment that I share a reschedule for our expected TIF meeting for tomorrow, Sept. 7th. Our office was notified by the Internal Government Affairs Office at CPS that due to ongoing construction and electrical challenges the meeting can not be held at Benito Juarez HS.

We immediately worked with CPS for alternative locations as soon as possible, and have been able to secure Irma Ruiz Elementary (2410 S Leavitt) as an alternative location with the new date for Monday, September 9th at 6:00pm.

We share the extreme sentiment of disappointment about this change and will continue to work diligently to connect residents with the most recent updates regarding the Pilsen TIF Amendment.

The presentation for the next session can be found on our website, along with the detailed information regarding next steps. Included you will also find the mail notice to Pilsen residents that provides a detailed summary of the amendment.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all individuals and organizations who have actively participated in discussions. The Pilsen TIF Amendment, which proposes an expansion of the TIF district, is scheduled for a vote by the Finance Committee on September 16th at 10 am at City Hall, 121 N LaSalle Street.

We understand the inconvenience this may have caused, but stand committed to the expected actions such as allowing residents to cast their vote. The digital version of the vote will still be available beginning tomorrow, Sept.7th at noon at the following link.
