Las obras comenzar\u00e1n en la parcela oeste y se desplazar\u00e1n a la parcela noreste. Todas las actividades de trabajo ser\u00e1n realizadas por el contratista de la Ciudad FH Paschen y sus subcontratistas, con la supervisi\u00f3n proporcionada por el consultor ambiental de la Ciudad, Roux Associates.<br \/>El saneamiento del suelo se est\u00e1 llevando a cabo para tratar dos tipos de contaminaci\u00f3n: hidrocarburos totales de petr\u00f3leo (HTP) y plomo. Se tratar\u00e1n los niveles m\u00e1s altos de contaminaci\u00f3n, mientras que los niveles m\u00e1s bajos se tratar\u00e1n al mismo tiempo que la construcci\u00f3n.<br \/>La contaminaci\u00f3n por TPH proviene de un tanque de almacenamiento subterr\u00e1neo con fugas que se retir\u00f3 de una antigua estaci\u00f3n de servicio Go-Time en 1601 S Morgan. La contaminaci\u00f3n por TPH se<br \/><br \/>encuentra cerca y debajo de las pilas de hormig\u00f3n triturado en la parte norte de la parcela oeste (al oeste de S Peoria St).<br \/>Los pilotes de hormig\u00f3n se desplazar\u00e1n dentro del emplazamiento para permitir la retirada y eliminaci\u00f3n de los suelos contaminados con HTP a un vertedero, y parte se utilizar\u00e1 para rellenar la excavaci\u00f3n.<br \/>La contaminaci\u00f3n por plomo peligroso procede de la antigua planta de fabricaci\u00f3n del emplazamiento, propiedad de National Lead, y est\u00e1 presente en varias zonas de ambas parcelas. El plomo peligroso se remediar\u00e1 mezclando un agente estabilizador en los suelos contaminados, con lo que los suelos dejar\u00e1n de ser peligrosos.<br \/>Aproximadamente diez camiones cargados de tierra contaminada se transportar\u00e1n fuera de la obra a un vertedero. El contratista utilizar\u00e1 agua nebulizada durante las actividades de trabajo si es necesario para suprimir el polvo. No se prev\u00e9 el cierre de calles, aceras o callejones durante estos trabajos.
